What We Collect
Dutch collects only what's needed to split expenses:
- Account info (name, email, or Apple ID)
- Expense data you enter (descriptions, amounts, splits)
- Friend connections and group memberships
- Device tokens for push notifications
How We Use Your Data
- To process and display your shared expenses
- To send push notifications about balances and payments
- To improve the AI expense parsing (anonymized usage patterns only)
What We Don't Do
- We never sell your data to third parties
- We never store payment credentials (Venmo, Cash App, etc.)
- We never access your bank accounts or financial institutions
- We never share your expense details with anyone outside your groups
Third-Party Services
Dutch uses:
- Supabase — database and authentication (PostgreSQL, hosted in US)
- Google Gemini — AI-powered expense parsing (text only, no personal data stored)
- Railway — backend hosting (US servers)
- Apple Sign In — authentication
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will delete all your data within 48 hours.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication uses Supabase JWTs. Database access is protected by row-level security policies. API endpoints are rate-limited.
Children's Privacy
Dutch is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
